Past Events:
Salvation Army / Project Team / UMBC Canned Food Drive:
October 13th - December 18th, 2003
We are holding a canned food drive on campus at UMBC (Baltimore, MD). It is a competition to see what residential hall can collect
the most cans. The winner will receive a plaque. All donations will go to the Glen Burnie Salvation Army. There they feed the homeless
two days a week and give food away to families with low incomes to help them out. To get more information or to help out,

Grand Opening - Project Team Maine / Make a Difference Day:
October 27th, 2003
The first day of Project Team Maine and thus the first expansion off of the original Project Team. This is a big step
for the program's development and it will be exciting to see how things go. Also, there's no better day to start
this than on Make a Difference Day! We'll try our best to make a difference with this program. Also this is the birthday
of Sarah Blum who helped start the program last year. Go Team!
Project Team UMBC visit day:
November 12th, 2003 (4:00-7:00pm)
On this day, Project Team kids will visit the UMBC campus. Activities planned for the kids include a spaghetti dinner,
a campus scavenger hunt, and a visit to the Commons game room.
In memory of Deora day:
November 24th, 2003 (11:00am-4:00pm)
UMBC Commons Main Street
On this day people will be urged to do something small to help make a difference in the world. Information
about Deora and her life will be distributed with a pin or button to remember her. This event is to raise
awareness that there are things we can do to improve ourselves and the world around us.
The Shriver Center 10th Anniversary Celebration
December 10, 2003
UMBC- The Commons, Skylight Room
This celebration will highlight the accomplishments of the Center over the last ten years through the testimonials of participants and
beneficiaries of the many Center initiatives serving the Baltimore area and beyond. Special guests at this event include
Eunice Kennedy Shiver and Sargent Shriver. Project Team will have a table at this event to showcase our program to the Shriver's
as well as UMBC faculty and staff. The purpose of this is to gain more attention and support for Project Team and to also
get advice from some of the top leaders who promote service delivery.
The Central Justice Alliance Fundraiser Dinner
January 3rd, 2004 @ 7:30pm
Freehold, New Jersey
Non profit organizations and humanitarians throughout the area will be in attendance to discuss world issues such
as aids, violence, sweatshops etc. Politicians from the state and federal level will also be in attendance. Project Team
Will attend this event and set up a table to promote the program and get support and advice from other organizations and
humanitarians. Our role at this event will be very similar to our role at the Shriver Center event.
20th annual COOL Idealist National Conference:
March 12th - 14th, 2004
University of Pennsylvania
The COOL Idealist Conference is the largest gathering in the nation
of college students, campus administrators, and nonprofit
organizations engaged in making a positive impact through civic
engagement.
Project Team members Jason Woody, Ian Workman and Jen Morse will attend
the COOL conference and present a workshop on how to start a community
service program, profiling Project Team. Also, to promote the program,
we will distribute information about Project Team at the conference's
opportunity fair and we will build connections with other service leaders
across the country.
Project Team - One year of teamwork:
March 20th, 2004
March 20th marks the one-year anniversary of the Project Team program.
To celebrate the year of success, we will host a special event on this day.

Project Team / Read All Over Book Drive at UMBC:
April 17th, 2004 - May 20th, 2004
UMBC Residential Halls
Project Team will sponsor a book drive for Read All Over. Books collected will be donated to local Baltimore City schools and the
Morrell Park YMCA (where we hold one of our team programs). For more information on Read All Over, visit http://www.readallover.org.
Project Team / College Gardens end of the year celebration:
May 3rd, 2004 (4:00-8:00pm)
UMBC - Erickson Field and Lecture Hall One
To celebrate the end of the year with the kids, we are organizing an fun-filled day for them that will include: Field games,
a pizza party, talent show, slide show, and awards banquet. College Gardens, a mentoring program run out of UMBC, will join in
on this event. All are welcome to attend this event.

Project Team New York - Informational Meeting:

Project Team is coming to New York! So come be a part of it. We will hang out and talk about the program as well as
do a sample activity together so that everyone can have an idea of what Project Team does. This will be a fun and informal

Colby College Benefit Concert:

Colby College is holding this concert to benefit Project Team as it hopes to raise $1000 by the end of the semester to have enough
to apply for 501(c)3 status. The concert will feature acapella acts Colby 8, Colbyettes, EVE, Sirens and Bluelights. For more information,

Project Team New York - Fundraiser Party:

Project Team will be hosting its first ever fundraiser party to continue the
efforts to raise enough money to apply for 501c3 nonprofit status. A ten dollar
donation is asked for this fundraiser. We promise a good time for anyone who
comes out. There will be games, refreshments, and live music by APT (www.poetunderny.com).

Project Team Maryland - End of the year celebration:

Team Maryland is having its 2nd annual end of the year celebration. There will be a pizza party and field games for the kids. A great way

year to "make it happen". Use this day to share your experiences with Project Team Team to your friends, as we try to get some faces to volunteer with us this year!
Board of Directors Conference Call:
